I’m going out on a limb here and predicting that LEGO’s new Star Wars Advent Calendar (7958) will be a hot Christmas (or pre Christmas) gift item this year. I think this is a great idea for the Star Wars collector as well as the LEGO collector. Who wouldn’t want to open a new mini LEGO set every day leading up to Christmas?

LEGO has been doing the Advent calendars since 1999, as far as I could see, but this is the first time they have used the very popular Star Wars theme. My bet is that it’ll sell out early. So visit LEGO Shop or Target from RewardsRunner.com and get cash back on this item.  It ‘s selling for $39.99 at each store.  I picked up several sets and took advantage of the free shipping offer at LEGO Shop (valid until 9/18).  This purchase also earned me 2.5% cash back.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about the recent additions of Performance Bike and Nashbar on RewardsRunner.com. I’ve been shopping at these stores for years and they host a great selection with prices that can’t be beat. Plus, we’re offering 4% cash back at both stores, adding to your savings more your purchases.

I recently purchased a new Felt Z85 bike this summer enhancing my riding even more. I was a mountain/hybrid bike rider, but now, I like hitting the road with this performance series bike. Since getting this bike, I’ve got my eye on a new wireless computer, shoes, helmet, and carbon water bottle cages.  I’ll be getting these items through Performance Bike and Nashbar.

I’ve always loved the Nashbar brand of products; they’re a value line of products that can save you big money. So check out either of these stores and you’ll find everything you need.  Remember protect you melon and wear your helmet!

This past weekend I dug out my duck decoys with the idea to get them organized for the duck opener in a couple of weeks. It sounded like an easy task, but once I got into the bags, I realized it’s a fortunate thing I started this early because some of the decoy cords where in bad shape. Some of the decoys themselves had some bad rub wear on them and needed some paint touch up.

The good news, a few hours later, I had the spread setting in my garage with a list of items needed, new cords, weights, paint, etc in hand. I walked into the house, got on the computer and got all of the items ordered. Which means, this weekend I’ll be getting the decoys finished up.

If you haven’t dug into your decoy bag yet, now is the time. You have two weeks to get the decoys prepped and ready. This is also a good time to give the shotgun a good cleaning, check your ammunition stash, get the waders out, and get the rest of your hunting essentials ready for the opener. This’ll insure and excellent opening weekend without any hiccups.

High School graduations are right around the corner and trying to find the perfect give may be a little difficult.  So, we’ve compiled a list of potential gifts that’ll help make your shopping just a little bit easier.

  1. Gift Cards - Send the Graduate “Out to Dinner” or on a “Shopping Spree” on you.  Gift cards to local stores and restaurants are great ides.  College students always need something and it’s great to enjoy a meal off campus.  Even a gift certificate to a movie theater is a great getaway from studying.   Fandango is a great option as you can get tickets to many different theaters around the country.
  2. Complete Laundry Basket - Fill a laundry basket with soap, fabric softener/dryer sheets, a package of hangers, and rolls of quarters.  Laundry supplies will always be needed and appreciated.  Check out soap.com for the supplies you’ll need to make this gift.
  3. Luggage - It’s great to pack up all those items to move to college and will be well used on those trips home.  Luggage Online has a vast selection for you to choose from.
  4. Gas Cards – With the cost of gas these day’s, a gas card will be greatly appreciated.
  5. Tool Kit- Whether they’re moving into their own place or into the dorm, there’s always the little something that needs to be fixed.  For the girls in your life try the Apollo 135 piece Pink Household Tool Set or for the red/black set for the boys from Sears.
  6. Stock or CD –Help them learn the importance of investing by purchasing a stock or CD for them.
  7. Small Refrigerator - A very useful gift for the teen who’ll be living in a dorm room at college. Find one at Wal-Mart.
  8. Flash Drives – An economical gift that everyone uses.  Great for transferring homework, projects, and pictures.  Available at Office Depot.
  9. Computer – If you want to give the graduate that big gift, a laptop is exactly what they’ll need whether it’s from Dell or MacMall.
  10. Cash – If you still don’t know what to get them or you just run out of time, every graduate appreciates a cash gift.
